About Makers & Co.

Makers & Co. is the current fabric and craft shop at 51 South 100 East, across from the American Fork Library. It opened in October 2025 after The Sewing Basket closed when its owner retired. The new business keeps creative retail in the same historic red-brick house while establishing its own mix of fabric, thread, yarn, gifts, classes, and events.

Owner Becky Snow’s family connection to the building shapes the shop’s identity. The house was built in 1908 by her great-great-aunt Lillian, remembered by the business as a seamstress, quilter, gardener, teacher, and resourceful mother. That history gives the store a distinctly local point of view without changing the practical reason to visit: it is a place to shop across several fiber crafts and find a gift for someone who enjoys making things.

The official website includes fabric, classes, new arrivals, sale items, and a calendar, but the online catalog is still developing. Call ahead if your trip depends on a particular fabric line, yarn weight, class opening, or quantity.

The Quilter’s Crossing is only a few minutes away and adds a deeper quilting and machine-embroidery selection. Together they make American Fork an easy two-shop stop at the north end of the Utah County fabric-store route.
