About Northern Utah Quilt Retreat

Northern Utah Quilt Retreat sits at the base of the Wasatch mountains in Layton and is built around a specific number: eight. That’s a deliberate choice rather than a limitation — eight is roughly the size at which everyone can still hear each other and nobody is waiting in line for an iron.

It’s a house rather than a venue. Multiple bedrooms and bathrooms, a fully stocked kitchen, comfortable seating for when your shoulders have had enough, project walls for laying blocks out, and a hot tub for the end of the day. The pitch is refreshingly blunt about what it’s really selling — days with nothing interrupting them.

That “whole house” arrangement is worth understanding when comparing retreats. Booking somewhere as a group of friends is a genuinely different experience from taking one room in a place letting them individually, and it tends to be why groups return to the same venue year after year.

Pricing and availability go through the owners directly, so call or text rather than expecting to book online.

Layton is well placed for a retreat — K & H Quilt Shoppe in Kaysville is minutes away if someone forgets something, and Nuttall’s is in town should a machine fail mid-weekend, which is not the disaster it would be somewhere remote. See Layton and Davis County.
